I'm Getting Married Monday

I'm so blessed to have amazing friends who go above and beyond for me. Maybe it's just that they really thought I may never get married, so they are making sure we celebrate big for this momentous occasion. On Saturday I had my first real party to celebrate the upcoming nuptials. One of my closest and dearest friends and her Grandmother (who is not the typical Grandmother) threw me a lingerie shower out on the lake - and it was beyond fabulous.

At first,  I was a little bummed because not that many people were able to make it. But then I kinda was happy, because it was my closest girlfriends there and we had so much fun being silly and loud and talking about anything and everything under the sun!

My friends think about all the details - that's what I love about them! When I got there the table and all the decorations were teacups filled with fresh flowers! There were gorgeous and to die for yummy chocolates instead of cake and red and white wine! My friends know how to put together a good spread!

We were having such a good time gossiping and drinking and eating, we almost completely forgot about the lingerie! Yet, another area my friends know me well! They all bought me things that truly matched my personality and who I am. Isn't it the best having girlfriends who know you so well? I was glowing all night (part of that may have been from all the wine I consumed)!

The shower was supposed to be from 6 to 8 - but once we hit the back patio, wine in hand and sat down with the lake as our background, we all just kind of forgot about the time. It was so nice to be able to unwind and relax and just have some true girl time - that just happened to be in celebration of me!

Once the night was over, Mom and I started the drive back to town. My Mom might have gotten a little tipsy on the wine herself - which she never does! But she had so much fun and I love getting to see her enjoy all these festivities as Mother of the Bride. And we might have gotten lost in the neighborhood for a good 15 minutes before we found our way back to the main road. At one point I believe I text David and told him I hoped the Webster girls didn't end up in jail (which was just a tipsy, exaggerated statement)!

I wish I could show you all the goodies I got, but David tends to pop in from time to time over here and I want everything to be an absolute surprise on our Honeymoon! The shower was beyond perfection and I couldn't have asked for a better night with a better bunch of friends! I'm trying to enjoy every moment of all this, because I know it's all once in a lifetime!

  2. How cute are those little knickers? You looked so darling and I agree... sometimes a smaller, closer, group is better! =D
