Friday, I'm in ♥

Dear friends, TGIF! Can I get an 'amen'? What's even more exciting is that David and I are headed out tomorrow on an overnight trip - no kiddos or dogs allowed - to celebrate our 1 year anniversary that is happening Monday. If you didn't get a chance to read the super mushy love letter I wrote him, you can check it out here.

So, on to the good stuff. The things I hoard, sometimes for weeks at a time, to share with my favorite friends here. Yep, I love you guys so much I've become an Internet link hoarder. But, that's okay by me.

Here we go:

  • First of all, who here is an Android user and got to enter the 'cool kid club' this week by downloading Instagram? I did! And I think David thought I had lost my mind I was so geeked out! I went from never snapping a photo to thinking I need to chronicle every minute of my life! Being a new Instagram user, I loved two articles I found this week on some Instagram add-ons and additional apps. Sometimes Sweet shares her list here and Beca of The Tales of a Tumbleweed gives some suggestions here.  P.S. You can follow along with me at elfhouse325.
  • My Girl Thursday is doing a new feature in blog design, which I'm so stoked about. I'm hoping to do a little face lift in the near future here at the Elf House and these tutorials are going to be such a huge help. What I really love? She explains things in ways this non-coding person can understand!
  • Megan at Absolute Mommy. Enough said. One of my new favorite bloggers. She's funny, fresh and so endearingly honest. Some favorite posts from this week - this one on hoarders meeting trading spaces, this extremely touching and honest one on having a mom revelation and her Tuesday Ten which includes Lost characters, which in my book makes her rock!!
  • Beth of Through the Eyes of the Mrs. shares her adventures in negotiating the purchase of a new car. I don't know about you, but car buying scares the hell out of me. This fierce lady did it all herself and shares some tips she learned along the way.
  • I'm dying to try this recipe from Amanda of Dragonflight Dreams. Mini breakfast pastries? I think so! To bad David and I will be living it up in a hotel this weekend instead of cooking at home (there is a tad bit of sarcasm in that statement)!

Your turn!! What did you love this week! Shoot me links, blogs, things, DIYs... anything you came across and think I might love.

And have a fabulous weekend! See ya back here on Monday. I'm turning off technology for the weekend to spend it with my future hubby!

  2. You follow the greatest blogs! I am in LOVE with my girl thursday - thanks so much for sharing that link on her tutorial! I love to tinker with my blog and I'm getting ready to redesign mine so that will come in handy!

Let's see - A great post I read this week was from Aubrey (of Aubrey plays) but she posted about guest posts over at RevolutionizeHer. I really enjoyed it! http://www.revolutionizeher.com/2012/04/04/on-guest-posting/

I am spending the weekend in East Texas with my Dad and some friends in town! I hope you and David have a great weekend away! You guys deserve it!

  3. Oh yay! More things for me to add to my long list of reading! You really do have some fantastic finds each week.

The big thing I would share is the same thing Claire posted, Gussy Sews mini-series on living a creative life. I've been loving every single post of it & find myself going back for more every day. I've always loved her blog, but it wasn't until this series that it moved to my list of daily reading.

Hope you have a wonderful getaway with the mister! I'm still trying to figure out what budget-friendly thing we can do to celebrate our first wedding anniversary at the end of the month. No getaway needed, but I did take the day off so we can enjoy every loving minute of it.
