Warning, this will be a sappy Thought for Thursday.
It's only right, seeing that Tuesday is Valentines Day. Now, I'm not a huge Valentines Day person. Probably because I've never really been in a relationship on that particular day of that particular month. But, now I have my Prince Charming and get to marry my best friend in July and things change.
However, I hope that it doesn't take this one little day of the year for him to know how much I love him. I hope I show him that love daily. And we can use any excuse for romance, flirting, sweet words and kind gestures, for the rest of our life.
I picked this quote because it's fitting. David is the first man I've ever been 100% myself with, holding nothing back and not ashamed about any part of me. He brings out the very best in me. He loves all my qualities, good and bad.
He likes to joke that I'm the perfect woman for him - he gets the nerd, the career gal, Miss Independence, sometimes a little snooty, down to earth and totally confident - all rolled into one. And he's right. Because with him, I can let every single side of my personality shine.
I can do silly little dances in the kitchen. I can baby talk the dogs. I can blow up and get mad, just to come back and say I'm sorry. I can show him a blog post and get his opinion. I can dream with him about all my dreams and know he will take them seriously.
It took me 31 years, but how worth the wait was to have everything I had prayed for. So, on Valentines Day, I will probably get him a little special something, but the other 364 days of the year, I will strive to have him feel my love... like I do every day from him.
I would also like to add, that today is our ten month anniversary. Now, to some of you, this may not seem like a big deal. But I haven't been in a ten month relationship since probably high school! So, I'm going to celebrate it! So, Happy Anniversary honey (I know you're reading).
