Ideas & Inspiration

I know I promised to not bore you to death with all my wedding planning - so I thought I might just take one day a week to share with you what I've come up with and my ideas and inspiration for our July 21 wedding! That way, I don't go overboard AND you guys can give me feedback and let me know how you think it's all coming together. Sound like a plan? Good! Here we go!

We booked our venue last week. We are getting married at Tankersley Gardens, which is one town over. It's a gorgeous garden venue with a chapel. We've decided to hold the ceremony in the chapel and the reception will  be both indoor and outdoor.

I mentioned it before, but in case you're new to the party, my inspiration for planning is my own version of the Mad Hatters Tea Party - so really, I'm looking at a vintage inspired tea party/garden party. Here are a few of the things I've come up with thus far and I'm pretty well set on.

We are meeting with the caterer this week, so I hope to be able to share our menu ideas with you guys next week. Everything is just falling into place as far as the look and feel of what I'm wanting. I am very intent on using succulents throughout the entire thing - when I first saw the idea I was hooked. I think it gives everything a beautiful natural feel and another hint of color, besides the navy and marigold we plan to use.

If you've planned a wedding, what was your theme/feel/inspiration? And how did you ensure it all came together on your special day?

And if you want, you can follow my wedding pin board on Pinterest here. Or, you can follow all my boards - that would be fantastic too!

  2. I know that your wedding is going to be gorgeous! Great theme. The Boy and I went for a 20's feel so there were feathers, fur and men wore hats. I'm obsessed with weddings so there is no way that you could bore me with details!!!

  3. Love everything you've decided on so far. It's going to be a gorgeous ceremony!

We went with a theme that was completely us: video game (specifically Mario). Of course there had to be a handmade touch to it all, so we made all the decorations & favors (not to mention it's hard to find anything wedding related that has video games besides the Game Over cake topper that we didn't go with).
