Our First Halloween

This was our first Halloween as a family at the Elf House. We had a wonderful night passing out candy to all the little goblins and ghouls. All in all, we probably saw 400 kids come by the house before we ran out of candy at 7:30 p.m. Can I just say, when did trick or treating before dark start? I remember when we were kids we didn't dare leave the house before the sun went down!

Everyone dressed up and got into the spirit (besides poor David, who didn't have a costume). The kiddos did most of the candy passing out and we ended the evening by watching the original Night of the Living Dead (which, by the way, the kids were not impressed with).

Some quick shots from last night. Next year, we are going to be waaaaay better planned out and offer some really fun and scary things at our house. Some how, we just ran out of time this year! I must mention, all these costumes came out of a box of dance costumes I've had since high school! Even the boys got in on the fun - they are not shy and love to be wild and wacky!

We start Christmas directly. That wouldn't be normal protocol at our house, however, we are being featured on the Christmas Tour of Homes the first week in December - so it's serious Christmas time starting now! I will share pictures as the house comes together and transforms into a magical wonderland!

A sneak peek - we will have a Texas Rangers themed room and a Sock Monkey themed room! It's going to be so much fun!

Happy November!!
