A Thought for Thursday {I Am Who I Am}

I've always been a huge fan of this quote by Marilyn. I think it suits me to a 'T'. I know who I am - the good, the bad and the ugly. I'm a self-made woman who never had to depend on a man to help me out or make me who I am. I'm proud of that fact. But I'm also happy that I've learned in my relationship with David that it's okay to let go of the control sometimes and depend and lean on someone else.

God love David.I'm far from being an angel. I'm moody, hard headed, independent, opinionated, stubborn, always think that I'm right and will hardly admit to it if I'm wrong. I have my bad days just like everyone else... but mine might be somewhat more frequent than others. I'm quick to get my feelings hurt and I'm quick to judge and I don't take jokes and playing around lightly - I tend to take things personal.

However, with David, I know he's the one - because for the 'not so pretty' traits I have, he loves me anyway. Actually, he finds it cute and endearing when I throw a temper tantrum or blow up or pout. I said my entire life I wouldn't have found the right man until I found someone with the temperament of my Daddy. My Dad is the king of knowing how to handle my Mom (I get my temperament from her). He knows she will have her 'crazy' days and he never lets if affect him. He lets her be crazy and moves on.

David handles me the exact same way. And that's how I know he's the one. He loves me - good and bad. And believe me, sometimes the bad is really hard to handle!

  1. I'm so glad you found *the one*. There's nothing like it!! Me too. I got mine too, and I am so thankful that he is able to help me through my bad days, and enjoy my good days *with* me.

  2. I just LOVE that quote. Isn't it amazing how the guys know just how to "handle" us? :)

    Thanks for linking up, lady!
